Black Market & Gameplay Loop


A lot of changes this week:

  • Added more UI to the menus. Now you can select which faction you want your character to be, as well as which map you want to raid. You can also see your current money compared to the cost of the items in your inventory, plus some more visual feedback such as an actual map.
  • Implemented the first half of the money mechanics: you need to be able to pay for everything that's in your inventory in order to be able to start a raid. 
  • Switched color space back to Gamma. Linear space was making some weapons from our very talented artists look worse, and that's something we can't accept. Colors and shading will be controlled with baked lighting and post processing in the future. You will be able to deactivate post processing effects in the Settings menu in the future.
  • Fixed a bug with starting raids
  • Now you can finally extract and get the total cost of the items you had in your inventory as a reward. This is the second half of the gameplay loop mechanics.
  • Added Black Market. Here you can fill your inventory with items before you go into an Outsider raid. But keep in mind you'll have to pay for those items with the money you have.
  • Sweeping UI changes
  • Some fixes to the SVT40's sniper scope
  • Added an icon that shows whether you're standing or crouched
  • Significant improvements to enemy AI behavior 
  • Added How To Play tab to the menu
  • Lots of minor changes

Next week:

  • First-aid kits
  • You'll finally spawn only with the weapons you've got. You'll no longer spawn with the stock SVT40
  • Ammo items and ammo logic.
  • Weapons stats will affect things like movement and sensitivity
