Devlog 5: Production
Now in the second production week everything picked up in pace and we are mostly done with setting things up. This phase is becoming more and more fun as things start to come together and you can imagine where it is going. So in this devlog we can share a few images of the first assets and the blockout of the scene. We are not quite there yet to show actual gameplay but that you can expect in the next devlog.
Lets start with the environment. As you can see it is still in its very first steps but for now enough to test everything. Also there is a working outline shader which will later be adjusted when the assets are placed in the scene.
For now we have some set dressing meshes like rocks, barrels and crates. All sorts of things you would find in a dungeons.
Furthermore we worked on the environment assets that are a big part of the gameplay. The furnace is a very central point.
There is also the elevator with its mechanics. In the game the elevator mechanism is stripped down in parts and your goal will be to find all 10 missing parts so you can repair it and call down the elevator to get out of the dangerous mine.
Concerning the characters, we made some progress on the Players! Meet Chonky, the sturdy dwarf !
Although he is not game ready yet, here is a sneak-peak of Squishy!

As for programming, we have added player and enemy behaviors pretty much to where it will be in the final game, except for some tweaking of the stats. Things like resource management are also well underway.
