Devlog 9: Feature complete
With this weeks devlog we are very happy to share that our game is feature complete and we are moving on to polish. So if you want just download the build and test it out yourself. Feddback is always very welcome.
The last production week had a lot of different tasks and certainly a good amount of bugs that needed fixing. On the artists side we finished the game environment with all models, textures and set dressing.
Here is a little peek at how it looks ingame when everything is dark and you see the spider coming at you.
Our players and enemies are fully animated now and you get visual feedback from what you are doing. Also we got a new UI now which fits more in the style and only holds necessary gameplay information to not clutter the screen and distract from the game.
We also started overhauling the appeareance of our promotional art for the itch page, maybe this will be used as a a startup screen.
Moving forward to polish we are mostly going to focus on cleaning up any visual inaccuracies. Especially the vfx could still needs some adjustments and a push into the right style.
In terms of programming, we made sure to implement the final logic to spawn enemies properly, lead the player from the menu all the way to the victory (or defeat) screen, and continued working on the inventory revamp from last week. We also made some minor fixes to things such as animation and generally prepared everything for the polish phase.
